Traditional Sauce to go with Maize meal Porridge

  • 1 Large onion chopped
  • 6 – 8 Large tomatoes blanched
  • Garlic
  • Oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • 3 TBSP of chutney
  • Worcester sauce – a couple of squirts
  • 4 TSP of sugar

  • Fry the onion and garlic in a big pot over moderate heat until soft.
  • Add peeled and chopped tomatoes as well as remaining ingredients and cook over low heat for 1 hour
